One extra day in February, One more chance to give

Take advantage of the leap year to fight food insecurity

Warm the hearts of others this Valentine’s season. DMARC is encouraging your congregation during the season of love to find a new way to give back. This year is a leap year and that means you have an extra day this year. Don’t waste it! Find one new way to support basic needs in your community. Your support is making a huge impact as our community is facing an emergency level of need around food insecurity. Do something extra like holding a food and fund drive or an extra collection to support the DMARC Food Pantry Network in February.

Ways to get involved:

  • Hold a second collection for DMARC – Your financial support makes the biggest difference right now!
  • Host a ‘Souper Bowl of Caring’ drive – February means the big game is almost here. Help DMARC tackle hunger and host a ‘souper bowl’ themed food and fund drive.
  • Invite others to learn more – DMARC can help you host an educational opportunity for your youth group so they can join the fight against food insecurity.

An Emergency level of need

The DMARC Food Pantry Network continues to see record levels of need as over 65,000 unique individuals utilized a pantry in 2023. This is 20% more people than last year and over 1/3 of those assisted were children.
